SwatchBoost — Multi-Colour Upsell App

Project Overview

SwatchBoost was built to solve a specific conversion problem in fashion and apparel Shopify stores: customers who want multiple colours of the same product must add to cart, go back, find the product again, and repeat — a friction-heavy loop that kills average order value. SwatchBoost intercepts the Add to Cart button and presents a frictionless multi-colour selection popup before the item hits the cart. The discount engine is what makes it genuinely useful rather than just convenient. As a customer selects additional colours, live tiered discounts apply automatically — 5% for two colours, 10% for three, 15% for four or more. The savings amount updates in real time as each colour is tapped, creating a visible incentive that drives higher selections. Merchants can customize the tier thresholds and percentages on paid plans. A key technical differentiator is native RTL and Arabic support. After auditing the top three competing Shopify swatch apps, all were found to break or render incorrectly in right-to-left storefronts — a significant gap for merchants in the Middle East, North Africa, and Hebrew-speaking markets. SwatchBoost was built RTL-first, with full Arabic, Hebrew, and French localization and verified rendering across all major OS 2.0 themes. Three brand preset themes — Premium Boutique, Bold and Energetic, and Warm and Regional — let merchants apply a full visual personality to the popup in one click. The Growth plan unlocks an analytics dashboard tracking activated products, discount tier distributions, and multi-colour selection rates, giving buyers insight into which colour combinations drive the most upsell revenue. SwatchBoost installs via Theme App Extension, requiring zero code injection and having no measurable impact on Lighthouse or Core Web Vitals scores. It is compatible with any Shopify Online Store 2.0 theme.
